In-Person Programs
New York Society of Play’s in-person Spring 2026 programming schedule is here! From January to June, we’re bringing your families a thoughtful curriculum that teaches students how to apply skills from playing games to the outside world including:
- Confidence and public speaking
- Conflict resolution and decision-making
- Emotional and social growth
- Mathematics and logic
- Strategy, negotiation, and planning
In addition to student favorites, like Fantasy Frontier and Dungeons & Dragons, we’re also adding some new offerings: Pokémon Club and Teen Dungeons & Dragons groups!
Our Curriculum
- Fantasy Frontier
- Our one-of-a-kind game combines the storytelling aspect of role-playing games with the physical engagement of sports. As a result, your child’s local park becomes a fantasy world filled with adventures, peril, and treasure!
- Dungeons & Dragons
- In this tabletop roleplaying game, players take on the role of adventurers in a fantasy world, completing quests and defeating monsters. D&D helps players develop confidence, mathematical literacy, public speaking skills, and more.
- Magic: The Gathering
- In our MTG programs, kids will get to know the world’s most popular trading card game! From deckbuilding, to strategy, to sportsmanship, our staff will teach players everything there is to know about being a card-gaming master!
- Pokémon
- In this trading card game workshop, kids will engage in friendly competition to “Be The Very Best.” Utilizing strategy and sportsmanship, players can defeat opponents and forge new friendships through action-packed battles.
- Board Games
- Play classics such as Settlers of Catan and Carcassonne, and explore new titles like Coup and 7 Wonders. Have fun and develop skills including negotiation, strategic thinking, and sportsmanship!
