New York Society of Play’s in-person Summer 2025 programming schedule is here!

At New York Society of Play, we use games to learn how to be part of a community and foster healthy friendships. Thanks to our social contract, our favorite games teach us about safety, trust, consent, and more!

This year, we are utilizing a new indoor/outdoor hybrid model. Students will spend a period indoors in the game room and a period outside at Fantasy Frontier.

Outside at the park, students become heroes at Fantasy Frontier! This one-of-a-kind program takes the best parts of sword fighting, improv theater, orienteering, and collecting to create a collaborative, massively multiplayer summer experience like no other. Students who come for one week will be able to use what they earn in following weeks, and even during afterschool programs during the year!

Indoors, students will learn and grow in our game room! With activities like board games, Dungeons & Dragons, and more! We will get to play a mix of old favorites and new challenges.

The Game Guide

Fantasy Frontier

  • Our one-of-a-kind game combines the storytelling aspect of role-playing games with the physical engagement of sports. As a result, your child’s local park becomes a fantasy world filled with adventures, peril, and treasure!

Trading Card Games

  • Between the Pokémon trading card game and Magic: The Gathering, playing TCGs (trading card games) helps players learn how to create strategies both long term and short term, and how to compete in a healthy way!

Dungeons and Dragons

  • In this tabletop roleplaying game, players take on the role of adventurers in a fantasy world, completing quests and defeating monsters. D&D helps players develop confidence, mathematical literacy, public speaking skills, and more.
